Poon Ming Kay graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in Chinese Language and Literature, and received his Bachelor (First Class Honors), Master, and Doctor degree accordingly. Since 2006, he has taught in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, having served as Instructor 1, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, etc. He is currently Professor and the Chairman of the Chinese Department. In addition to his departmental responsibilities, he is the Honorary Research Fellow at the D.C.Lau Centre for Chinese Ancient Text of the Institute of Chinese Studies, and the Associate Master and Dean of General Education at Wu Yee Sun College. His research areas include Confucian literature, Classics from the Han and Tang dynasties, historical taboos, overseas Chinese texts, and natural history. He has been honored with the Vice-Chancellor’s Exemplary Teaching Award from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
