Co-organized by the Office of University General Education of CUHK, School of Continuing and Professional Studies and Second Bookstore, the Book Club aims to serve as a platform to communicate and learn among book lovers through regular in-person and online gatherings. Participants could share their reading experiences with openness and develop a broad perspective of knowledge, so as to experience the idea of General Education. Over 300 talks have been held since its establishment in 2001. To encourage more general public to participate, the gathering venue has been extended from the CUHK campus to Central District.
The Book Club holds gatherings once a month at the School of Continuing and Professional Studies Centre in Central. Free admission and all are welcome.

Book Club 20th Anniversary Booklet
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Book Club, we published the “Book Club 20th Anniversary Booklet” in April 2023, which included articles written by the organisers and speakers of the Book Club, reflecting on the experience of joining the Club, exploring the significance of the Club, discussing the joys of reading and storing books, as well as sharing their insights on the reading of the classics.
