Register nowAbstract
We always care about and prioritize our students’ needs, well-being and personal development.
To facilitate students to explore and experience different aspects of university life and to make the best out of it, the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) provides a variety of activities and services. These include support for student organizations, resources for non-local students, mental wellness initiatives, and career planning and development. The Student Experience and Development Section (SEDS) of OSA is dedicated to promoting non-formal education and coordinating diverse student activities that offer a rich range of non-formal learning opportunities. Through collaboration with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and community partners, we provide various service learning opportunities in Hong Kong, mainland China, and overseas. By adopting the WE.CARE framework, we aim to cultivate well-rounded students, celebrate their achievements, and foster a lifelong commitment to learning and community contribution.
In this seminar, we will introduce and discuss our service learning initiatives, student development model, empowerment and engagement strategies, and advocacy approaches from the perspectives of student development practitioners. This discussion aims to share knowledge and best practices to support students in participating in service learning activities and enhancing their personal qualities and generic attributes.
